About the artist

Janina J. Sarzyńska graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań (now the University of Fine Arts in Poznań) in 2001, where she studied in the Faculty of Art Education.

She earned her artistic diploma in Sculpture under the supervision of Prof. Kazimierz Raba. Her interest in theoretical issues within geometric abstraction and contemporary concrete art inspired reflections on fundamental values not only in the visual arts but also in music, poetry, and philosophy. These ideas were explored in her master’s thesis, The Geometry of Abstraction: An Introduction to the Work of Gerard Jurgen Blum-Kwiatkowski, supervised by Prof. Roman Kubicki.

In 2008, she completed postgraduate studies at the University of Wrocław in cultural studies, further expanding her pedagogical expertise to include cultural theory, musicology, theatre studies, and film studies.

Janina J. Sarzyńska belongs to the Association of Polish Artists and Designers, Wrocław District. She lives and works in Bolesławiec, Poland
